The Pageant of the Masters is one of the most famous and unique events in all of Southern California. We will enjoy tableaux vivants, or living pictures, as beloved works of art are shown live onstage. Before the show there will be time to explore the Festival of Arts, listen to live music and enjoy the many works of art on display by local artists. The theme for 2018 is ‘Under the Sun’ and promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Grand Tradition & Myrtle Creek Botanical Gardens

Enjoy a beautiful docent-guided tour of the Grand Tradition with breathtaking views of the estate and its heart-shaped lake. Next, we will travel over to Myrtle Creek Botanical Gardens & Nursery for a garden experience unlike any other! Enjoy time on your own to explore the butterfly gardens, wild bird sanctuary, and the historic Fallbrook Barn. After lunch, enjoy a slice of pie, on us!


California Route 66 Museum & Lunch at Cracker Barrel

 Location: Victorville
 Cost: Residents $25, Non-Residents $30

Start this trip off with an early lunch at the very first Cracker Barrel in California.  Each guest will receive a $20 gift card that can be used to purchase their meal and/or gifts from the Old Country Store.  After lunch, the bus will make a quick stop by Elmer's Bottle Tree Ranch for a chance to explore the fantastical roadside collection of antiques and glass bottle "trees" that are guaranteed to be a unique photo opportunity!  The last stop will be a visit to the California Route 66 Museum.  With over 4,500 Sq.ft. of floor space and a team of knowledgeable docents, this museum is a treasure trove of photos, memorabilia, and stories of the Mother Road.

Excursion Information

Reservations: Trips must be paid by check or cash at the time of reservation. Checks should be made payable to City of Signal Hill. To pay, either come in person or mail check to the Community Services Department, 2175 Cherry Avenue, Signal Hill, CA 90755.

Waitlist: Trips that fill up will have a waitlist available. All residents will be called from the waitlist before non-residents. After residents have been contacted we will go down the waitlist in numerical order starting with number one. Do not send a check or pay for the excursion unless you are contacted by Community Services staff and told a spot is available for you.

Parking: Parking for excursions is available in the lot next to the Library, in front of the basketball courts, on the south side of Hill Street, and in the upper parking lot on Legion Drive.

Departure: For all excursions, please arrive at the Signal Hill Library, 1770 E. Hill Street, 30 minutes prior to departure time.

Motorcoach Special Requests: Our excursions’ seating is based on a priority system, residents first, any person with a handicap and then non-residents, and are based on when payment is received. We do our best to accommodate special requests, but they are not guaranteed.

Excursion Cancellation Policy: To receive a refund on any excursion you must contact the Community Services Department at least ten business days prior to the excursion. An administrative fee of $5 will be charged on ALL cancellations. If cancellation is made within ten business days, no refunds or credits are issued.

Illness on Trips: If you are feeling ill please notify the escort immediately. Please do not leave the group without notifying the escort as to where you are going. Also, a travelling kit is an essential, though what you choose to put in it may depend slightly on your own individual needs.

Here are some items that you may want to consider taking on the next trip:
Prescription medications, anti-diarrheal medicine, allergy pills, and pain relievers
Refreshments: cereal bars, crackers, fruit, water or juice drink

Please be advised that City staff cannot dispense any medications.
