City Of Signal Hill

TRANSPORTATION

Dial-A-Taxi is an economical taxicab service designed to provide demand responsive curb-to-curb transportation. The service is available to Signal Hill residents over the age of 18 years with ambulatory disabilities, who have no other means of transportation.
Applications are available at Community Services Department, 2175 Cherry Avenue, 989-7330, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Applicants must provide copies of the following information with their application:
  1. Proof of residency / Signal Hill Residents Only
  2. Proof of age (photo id)
  3. Social Security or Medicare Card
  4. Proof of income

Dial a Taxi operates seven days a week, 24 hours per day. Service is provided within Signal Hill, Long Beach and Lakewood city limits and to Los Alamitos Hospital and Kaiser Permanente Hospital/Bellflower. Members can expect to travel between five to seven miles per trip. Members are advised to use their vouchers sparingly and to ride share as often as possible. When ride sharing, each passenger shares the charged rate.

Bus Pass Program provides monthly Long Beach Transit Special Bus Passes for purchase at the Community Services Department. Discounted rates apply to those senior residents over the age of 62 years, who meet the income criteria. Special Bus Passes are also available, $11 each month, to those individuals who qualify to receive a Special Bus Pass.
