The City of Signal Hill entered into an exclusive franchise contract with EDCO
, or Signal Hill Waste and Recycling Services (formerly known as Signal Hill Disposal), for refuse and recycling collection services. All city residents, businesses, and developers are required to utilize EDCO for the collection of regular trash, recyclables, and construction and demolition debris, including debris from tenant improvement projects. Participation in the city’s recycling program
is also mandatory for single-family and multi-family dwelling units.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center
The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Center serves for the proper disposal of harmful waste products and household toxic items including e-waste, medicines, batteries, used motor oil, paints and other chemicals. The program is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and is located at California Avenue and 28th Street. HHW Video
Please contact EDCO directly at (562) 597-0608 to initiate service, cancel service, and/or request a temporary bin. A temporary bin placed on a city street also requires a City Encroachment Permit
