Bulky Item Pick-Up
Collection Information
Through the City’s solid waste management agreement, the City of Signal Hill and EDCO (Signal Hill Waste and Recycling Services) sponsor two free bulky item collection weeks a year for Signal Hill residents. The collections occur during the fall and spring, and items are collected on the same day as your regular trash day for that week.

Acceptable Items
Bulky items include any household goods, such as washers and dryers, furniture, mattresses, and old television sets. For a complete list of acceptable items, please contact EDCO at (562) 597-0608.

Unacceptable Items
Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste should be disposed of at recycling centers or round-up events sponsored by the LA County Department of Public Works.

Event Promotion
The City's website will announce the week-long bulky item collection special event at least one month in advance of the actual collection. A notice will also be placed in the Signal Tribune newspaper, and the mayor will announce the event at City Council meetings. If you would like to be notified by email about the event, please subscribe to the city's online notification service.

Additional Pick-Ups
City residents are also allowed two additional free bulky item collections a year. This provides our residents four opportunities during the year to dispose of large bulky items at no charge. For costs of other special collections of large items, please contact EDCO at (562) 597-0608.
