 ARTWORK 10.jpg 3nd Annual Bookmark Design Contest

Help us design a bookmark for the library and promote our Summer Reading Program theme “What’s Your Story? / ¿Cuál es tu historia?” The contest is open to all students from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Winners will be chosen in four age categories and the winning bookmarks will be printed and distributed at the library. Entries will be accepted from February 12 to February 2018 to , Entry forms and rules will be available at the library starting on February 5, 2018. Winners will be announced on March 13, 2018. Register by visiting the library.

 bluVR.jpg Virtual Reality Open House
Wednesday, March 7 2018 from 3-5pm

Swim alongside manta rays, angler fish, and a blue whale – in virtual reality! Wearing a VR headset, you’ll embark on an underwater journey to parts of the ocean few people get to see first-hand. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and talk about the technology and future of virtual reality. Register by calling or visiting library.
Note: The system may cause vertigo and disorientation.


 
3D Printing at Signal Hill Public Library (All ages)

Orientation class on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the library. This orientation session will introduce participants to 3D printing services. Participants must attend the orientation class in order to register for additional 3d printing classes. Class size is limited. Participants under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. Register by calling or visiting the library.

Thursdays from 3pm to 5pm

Each week will feature a game, craft, or movie and a snack.

On Game Night, we break out our collection of board games, playing cards, and dominoes and let you and your family have at them. Game Night is for game lovers of all ages! We ask that children under the age of 12 be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Register by calling or visiting the library.


National Library Week April 9 to April 14

Celebrate National Library Week with the theme, “Libraries Lead.” April is designated as National Library week to celebrate all that libraries offer to their guests – from books to computers to story times to thought-provoking programming for all ages! Signal Hill Public Library is a vibrant community hub and we invite you to join us in this celebration by coming to the library for the events we will have scheduled during the week.
