Signal Hill Public Library invites you to join us June 16 - August 11 for our  summer program, Reading Takes You Everywhere. The program is open to all – children, teens, and adults! Check out and read books, attend library events and get tickets to earn weekly prizes! Tickets for the weekly drawings will be given for:

Teen, one ticket for every 20 minutes of reading.

Everyone attending a library program will receive a drawing ticket.
Any ticket not drawn for the weekly prize will be eligible for the grand prize at the end of the program!

Dino Encounter admission wristbands will be presented to every participant who reads at least two hours during the program.

Love Japanese anime? So do we! Join us with ex- Simpson animator Carlos Nieto III to learn how easy it is to draw your favorite and/or original anime characters! Register by visiting or calling the library at 562-989-7323.

Thursday, June 28 from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
We will be connecting to The Lab, a collection of mini games and experiences. Each of the mini games take 5-10 minutes to complete. Register by visiting or calling the library at 562-989-7323.

Reading Round the World (18+)

Monday, July 23 from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Richie's Plank Virtual Reality Experience (10+)

Wednesday, July 25 from 3 p.m.-5 p.m.
We'll be connecting to Richie's Plank Experience. It's a short experience which will cause big reactions - exhilaration, fear and laughter - it's always surprising to see how each person reacts. Register by visiting or calling the library at 562-989-7323.

End of Summer Reading Takes you Everywhere Dino Encounter Fest

Saturday, August 11 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
 Come join us for pizza, carnival style rides and an interactive show with dinosaurs of the late Cretaceous period with Rocky the TRex, Scout and Rebel. Register by visiting or calling the library at 562-989-7323. This event is free for summer reading participants.

Teen Drop-In (6th-9th)
Thursdays from 1pm to 3pm

Each week will feature a game, craft, or movie and a snack.

We participate in providing community service hours toward graduation requirements for students 14 years or older who are in the Long Beach Unified School District. Register by calling or visiting the library.
