Library Card Sign-Up Month-September is Library Card Sign-Up Month: What’s the card that lets you travel the world, attend wizardry school, get your homework done and help your parents get ideas for cooking dinner? It’s a Signal Hill Public Library card. A library card is cooler than being cool because you can use it for so many things and it’s free! During September children and adults signing up for a new library card will receive a library card holder.

First Friday Book Club (over 18 years)

First Friday of each month, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m
Participants are provided a copy of the books, which alternate between fiction and non-fiction titles, and are discussed. Dessert and beverages are served. (During the new library construction the book club may be held at different locations. Please check with the library for each month’s meeting location.)

On Game Night, we break out our collection of board games, playing cards, and dominoes and let you and your family have at them. Game Night is for game lovers of all ages! We ask that children under the age of 12 be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please call 562-989-7323 to register.

Thursday, September 28, 6:00 p.m.

This program focuses on direct education in schools and in the community and indirect education during health fairs. This program will offer a free food demonstration and Zumba class. Each year Signal Hill Friends of the Library receives thousands of donated books, audio tapes, CDs, and DVDs. Which we in turn resell to the public. All profits benefit the Signal Hill Public Library. Go green! Bring a sturdy bag/box and fill it up.

Yoga & Zumba with Lacey Marsac

Wednesdays - October 4, 11, 18, 25 – 9:00 a.m
Come learn a basic physical approach to the yoga practice connecting postures, movement and breathing. Improves strength and flexibility, toning, decreases stress, enhance body awareness. This course is free and please register by calling 562-989-7323. (Bring a yoga mat)

Fridays - October 6, 13, 20, 27 at 9:00 a.m.
