EDCO

The City of Signal Hill exclusively contracts with EDCO Disposal for refuse and recycling collection services. All City residents, businesses, and developers are required to use EDCO for the collection of regular trash, recyclables, and debris. Please refer to the Trash and Recycling Services Guide for more information.

Service Requests

Please contact EDCO directly at 562-597-0608 to initiate service, cancel service, and/or request a temporary bin. A temporary bin placed on a City street also requires a City Encroachment Permit. Please contact Public Works at 562-989-7351 for permit information.

Bulky Item Pick-Up

City residents are provided two free bulky item collections a year on their regular collection day. See the Bulky Item Pick-Up page for full details.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center

Please properly dispose of harmful waste products and household toxic items including electronic waste, medicines, batteries, used motor oil, paints and other chemicals, gasoline (*in containers) and more at EDCO's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Center. Collection occurs on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at 2755 California Ave. Signal Hill. Learn more on EDCO's website.

Additional E-Waste Drop-off Locations

E-waste is accepted at two Long Beach Conservation Corps locations on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., free of charge:

  • Conservation Corps of Long Beach, 340 Nieto Ave., Long Beach 90814
  • CCLB Environmental Education Center, 3251 E. 19th St., Signal Hill 90755

You can also bring E-Waste to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, 1400 N. Gaffey St., San Pedro, CA, 90731, Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Note: It is illegal to transport more than 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste to a collection site. Residents are limited to a total of six pieces of electronic waste per visit to a S.A.F.E. Center.
