Join us for a day at the Getty Villa and discover the stories behind remarkable works of art. The villa serves as an education center and museum and has focused on the study of the art and culture of ancient Greece, Rome and Ethiopia. The collection currently comprises 44,000 Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquaries dating from the period between 6,500 B.C. and 400 A.D., including the Heracles of Lansdowne and the Victorious Youth.
Trip cost does not include lunch. There are cafes on site for an additional fee or you may pack a lunch and enjoy on the grounds.
Carlsbad Flower Fields and Outlets

Registration begins Monday, March 6, at 8:00 a.m.
Join us for a day at the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. The ranch has over 50 acres of land that cover the Pacific Ocean and will awaken the beautiful ranunculus flowers.It is a great opportunity to walk among the flowers and be a part of nature. Come and enjoy a peaceful tractor ride through the Fields, the sweet pea maze, butterfly garden, poinsettia display, cymbidium greenhouse, and the American Flag of Flowers! There will be time to shop at the outlets and eat lunch. Participants must return to the bus at 3:00pm for departure.
Please note: Trip cost does not include lunch. Restaurants are onsite at the outlets for an additional fee.

If an excursion is sold out, be sure to call the Community Services Department at 562-989-7330 and put your name on the waitlist. When openings become available, Signal Hill residents will be called before non-residents on the waitlist. Please do not show up on the day of the excursion unless you have been instructed to do so.
Guests who are already signed up and can no longer attend should notify the Community Services Department as soon as possible to allow people on the waitlist to be called. Guests who can no longer attend are not able to choose who will replace them on the excursion. Those on the waitlist will be given priority.
Excursion Information
Trips must be paid in full at the time of registration. Individuals may sign up for themselves plus one additional person. No telephone reservations will be accepted. Payments can be made:
- In person: by check, cash, or credit card at the Community Services Department, 1800 E. Hill Street, Signal Hill
- Online: by credit card (Active Adult & Senior Services - Online Registration)
Registration is non-transferable. Individuals who can no longer attend must notify the Community Services Department as soon as possible so that individuals in the waitlist may be called.
Waitlist: Trips that fill up will have a waitlist. All waitlisted residents will be called before non-residents. After residents have been contacted, waitlisted non-residents will be called in order starting with number one. Do not send a check or come in to pay for the excursion unless you are contacted by Community Services staff and told a spot is available for you. Checks received after an excursion is full will be returned to sender. Waitlisted individuals who show up on the day of the excursion and are not registered will not be allowed to board the bus.
Parking: Parking for excursions is available in the lot next to the Library, in front of the basketball courts, on the south side of Hill Street.
Departure: Please arrive in front of the Signal Hill Public Library, 30 minutes prior to departure time. Departure and return times may be adjusted due to circumstances beyond our control.
Motorcoach Special Requests: Our excursions' seating is based on a priority system: residents first, any person with a handicap, then non-residents, and is based on when payment is received. We do our best to accommodate special requests, but they are not guaranteed. When registering, please notify us if you use a wheelchair or other mobility aid.
Excursion Cancellation Policy: To receive a refund on any excursion you must contact the Community Services Department at least ten business days prior to the excursion. An administrative fee of $5 will be charged on ALL cancellations. If cancellation is made less than ten business days prior, no refunds or credits are issued. Because we are required to repay for the excursions, we are unable to provide a credit or refund for a cancellation within 10 business days of an excursion. Last minute cancellations must have a doctor's note to receive any refund.
Illness on Trips: If you are feeling ill please notify the escort immediately. Please do not leave the group without notifying the escort. A travelling kit is essential, though what you choose to put in it depends on your own individual needs. Please be advised city staff cannot dispense any medications.
