July 4 2021 News Flash

Independence Day is approaching! The Hilltop area will be closed to all non-residential vehicular traffic beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 4. Screening areas will be located at 21st Street and Junipero Avenue and on Temple Avenue at 20th Street. There will be multiple road closures and restricted access points around the Hilltop area:

  • No Parking signs will be at Gardena Ave. and Crescent Heights St. and Gardena Ave. and Burnett St. Please do not park in this area when the signs are present.

  • 21st Street and Junipero Avenue

Hilltop residents who are having guests should contact SHPD Sergeant Russ Hefte at with their name, address, and number of guests. Please contact Sgt. Hefte if you have questions related to the July 4 closures and restrictions.

Please consider viewing area fireworks displays at the event itself, as Hilltop space is extremely limited. We would like to remind everyone that the possession, sale, and discharge of all types of fireworks, including "Safe and Sane" fireworks are prohibited within the City of Signal Hill, and laws will be enforced. The Signal Hill Police Department is committed to providing a safe environment for residents and visitors on July 4th.
