1. Do you have to be a Signal Hill resident to participate in ARC?

No. The ARC is open to any child between the ages of 6-12 years old. Priority registration is given to Signal Hill residents.

2. What will my child do while attending ARC?

Staff members are on hand to lead games, provide arts and crafts, and help children with homework.

3. What experience and training do ARC staff have?

Every ARC staff holds a high school diploma, many staff have college credits in early childhood education, recreation or a closely related field. Each staff has a minimum of 6 months experience working with school aged children. The staff participate in bi-monthly trainings that cover a variety of topics including, but not limited to: Youth Development, Encouraging positive behavior, safety procedures, games, transitions, age specific learning/development and social emotional learning. In addition, each of the staff hold a certification in First Aid/CPR/AED.
