On Saturday, March 26th, from 9am to 3pm, Los Angeles County Public Works and the County Sanitation Districts are presenting a household hazardous waste and e-waste round up event at Long Beach Veterans Stadium located at Clark Avenue and Conant Street. The event is open to all LA County residents who will be able to dispose of their waste items free of charge.
Examples of acceptable items at this event:
• Paint, paint thinner, cleaners with acid or lye, pesticides, pool chemicals
• used motor oil and oil filters, car batteries, anti-freeze, brake fluid
• household alkaline batteries, fluorescent light bulbs,
• expired pharmaceuticals
• e-waste items including computer monitors, TV’s, computer CPU (tower units), keyboards, printers, cell phones etc
• New item – home-generated sharps waste such as hypodermic needles, pen needles, syringes, lancets – these items can no longer be disposed of in regular trash
Please DO NOT bring these items:
• hazardous waste and e-waste from businesses
• trash and tires
• white goods such as washing machines, refrigerators
• explosives, ammunition
• controlled substances
