Free Bulky Item Pick-Ups On Your Trash Day

City residents are provided two free bulky item collections a year on their regular collection day. Up to four bulky items may be placed alongside trash and recycle bins. This service is provided at no charge. Please contact EDCO at 562-597-0608 to schedule your free pick-up. You will need to provide the number of items, a description and the address for pick-up. After pick-up has been scheduled, please place the bulky item tag on your items. EDCO cannot collect bulky items unless these arrangements are made in advance.

Bulky items include any household goods, such as washers and dryers, furniture, mattresses, and old television sets. For a complete list of acceptable items, please contact EDCO at 562-597-0608. Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste should be disposed of at recycling centers (PDF) or round-up events sponsored by the LA County Department of Public Works.

Free Spring and Fall Bulky Item Collection Events

Through the City’s solid waste management agreement, the City of Signal Hill and EDCO sponsor two free bulky item collection weeks a year for Signal Hill residents. The collections occur during the fall and spring on the following dates:

Spring 2023 Bulky Item Collection Week is May 1 - May 5, 2023.

Shredding, E-waste Drop Off and Mulch Giveaway is Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at 2755 California Avenue, Signal Hill, CA 90755.

Fall 2023 Bulky Item Collection Week: Dates to be confirmed.

During the scheduled collection week, single-family residences can set out bulky items at the curb for collection on their regularly scheduled collection day. Residents in multi-family complexes should call EDCO to arrange for a special free pick-up prior to the scheduled free pickup week.
