OVERVIEW

Welcome to the City of Signal Hill's Teen Leaders in Training Summer Program. This program will provide the opportunity to intern with one of the City's departments. This is a great opportunity for teens to give back to their community, gain valuable experience, take a deeper dive into how the City operates, as well as earn community service hours through the summer. 

  • Participants will be asked to commit between 4-30 hours per week for the length of the program. 
  • The program will begin on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 and the last day will be Friday, August 15, 2025.
  • All participants will be asked to attend an initial orientation from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
  • All participants will be responsible for transportation to and from their assignment.

ELIGIBILITY

The youngest participants must be 14 years of age OR an incoming 2025 high school Freshman. The oldest participants must be 17 years of age OR an incoming 2025 high school Senior. Any teen may apply for this opportunity, however please note that Signal Hill residents and students of Signal Hill schools will be given priority placement.

Please download the Teen Leaders in Training Application, and return it to the City of Signal Hill's Parks, Recreation & Library Services Department either via email or in-person by 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 (deadline was extended from Monday, April 28, 2025).
