A supplement of groceries is available to low-income residents of Signal Hill over the age of 55 through the City’s Brown Bag Food Distribution Program. Groceries consist of a variety of meat, chicken, fresh fruit and vegetables, and canned goods. Food distribution for registered participants occurs every other Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in front of the Signal Hill Community Center.

Individuals who are unable to pick up their food at the designated time may make an appointment with the Community Services Department to pick up their Brown Bag between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Arrangements for late pick-up must be made no later than 8 a.m. Thursday morning. The designated person will be required to present the member’s membership card at the time of pick-up.
